Unit 3 70. Audience feedback
After showing our audience our thriller opening, we gained some
positive feedback of what worked well and what they liked about it. They
found that the opening fit the thriller theme well since it had a
noticeable antagonist and they also found that the voice-over helped
them understand what was going on. However they found that the ambient
music was quite loud and the part at the end of the sequence where the
bad guy appears behind the protagonist didn't have the impact it needed.
To improve we toned down the ambient music to help focus on the voice-overs and we added a jump scare sound effect when the robber appears behind the protagonist, to assist in creating suspense for the viewer.

Unit 3 69. post production techniques
At the start of the opening sequence, a train passes by with no background music or sound besides the sound that the train makes itself, to help create the scene and atmosphere of the area being an under/overpass. After a cut that is used to quickly transition between different shots, music begins to play, as well as a voice over, both used to help create suspense for the viewer as the music is quite eerie/spooky atmosphere as well as the voice over speaking in questions and riddles, all to help keep the viewer on edge. The voice over was simply recording using a voice recording device during the post production stage, as it was simple and easy to do within minutes.
We very successfully blended shots together when the robber pushes the protagonist. The first shot shows the robber begin his motion to push and the second shot shows his hands pushing the protagonist. This was done to smoothly transition the shots.
We blurred the vision and muffled the sound for the hospital shot as that is what the protagonist says about his sight and vision to give off this idea that the character is injured/disoriented and can barely hear or see what is going on around him.
For the title of the film, the we wanted a black background, so we darkened old footage from our past projects. What worked well here is that the movement of my arms in the old footage created an interesting appearance for the title.
